Old copper coin unidentified

I found this old copper but I haven't been able to identify it yet. I can make out some letters or numbers on one side but that's about the only clue, and it's in such bad shape I don't want to touch it. Seem like a long shot but any ID help appreciated.

It's a British King George II or III Halfpenny.

This is the correct orientation for the reverse.
