Them there hills!
Detector(s) used
Tesoro Conquistidor
At the local park on one end it had been grown up for many many years and the town finally cut it all down to put up a fench. I jumped on the chance to detect there. My second beep I pulled out 1910 V Nickel. I was so excited i had to go smoke and send a bunch of texts. I went back and almost kicked the dirt in the hole then decided i better recheck the hole. Another beep! 1899 V nickel!!! Rechecked and got a very worn 19906 Silver Canadian dime. My first ever V nickel. My first ever silver coin. My oldest coin to date. man i dont think i will ever top this pocket spill!!!

I also was able to clean and id the shotshell brass. UMC co New Club No 12. Made between 1864 and 1911. I really hope i can find some more of these. Would be nice to get a little collection of these old Shotshells.

Here are some pics Im sorry for the picture quality I gotta get me a camera with the macro setting.

nice pocket spill. Did you get all of the area check there could be more....Matt

I imagine the smoke you mention was coming off your detector coil. ;D

Don't think you'll never top that find. There's another one waiting somewhere, calling out your name.

Thanks everyone and thanks to whoever resized my photo's. I plan to continue to hit that area hard over and over for the next few weeks:-)

plehbah, that spot is cool. The dime actually had a ring of corrosion on it from the nickel but washed right off with some warm water.

sweet find, and yes you will top that spill, keep at it, there more goodies waiting for you!

Great finds. Come over here to Chicago if you want to find some more shotgun shells. I dig tons of them and throw them away at the end of each hunt. They become a pain after awhile as they sound a lot like nickels and I can't resist digging anything that sounds like them.
