Old coin or token?

Just dug this and it has seen better days. One side is completely toasted but there may be enough on one side to id it. Anyone recognize what it is? I see a face and letters where a date should be. Looks familiar but i cant place it. Thanks for any help! [emoji2]

Can't put my finger on it right now, but the Roman numeral date at the bottom rings a bell

I'm assuming the date in Roman numerals under the exergue line is [M]DCCX[XI]I or something similar which would be 1721 (?). Doesn't appear to be that old or a coin, so my guess is some sort of token.

I was looking at those tokens the other day when I dug a coin with a shield on it, I knew it was familiar

Yes, Conder token is the correct spelling, MLCCXCI = 1791
