I found this in my yard a few days ago. i am hoping someone can help me id it. it is copper and apears to have nothing on the back it has much corrosion in the center as you can see. i can see that there i writing on it but cant make out many letters. i know it has a w or an m on it followed by a period as if it were an initial. it also apears to have the letters " ora " in order on it but i cannot make out the word or name it is trying to spell. it has a circle near the outer edge and another towards the middle just outside of the corrosion you can see. i am posting 2 pics one a little darker than the other but not much can be seen on either photo.

i am from central maine and this area has been populated for quite a while. the origional part of my house was constructed in 1758.

thanks for any help

JT

IT IS JUST VERY VERY SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN A MODERN DIME(VERY CLOSE TO THE SAME). IT IS ABOUT 3/4 THE THICKNESS OF A MODERN DIME.
THE OTHER SIDE APPEARS TO BE COMPLETELY BLANK BUT IT IS VERY WORN AND CORRODED.

ALSO THE LETTERS I CAN SEE ARE IMPRESSED INTO THE COIN NOT RAISED AS I AM USED TO SEEING.

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS
