So after doing some digging through county maps, I found a small town church site from around the early 1900's. The house that sits there now replaced the old parsonage, but you can still see the outline of where it sat. Googlemaps obviously doesn't get out that way, because it showed a photo of the parsonage, and the current house was built in 2007.
Anywho, I drove up, and talked with the owners, and they very kindly gave me permission to hunt the grounds. I didn't get to hunt it for very long, and I found areas of large trash concentrations where the grandfather aparantely buried all kinds of junk (car parts, scrap from buildings, that sorta thing).
I did however manage to find a series 37 Matchbox cattle truck.

On the plus side, they gave me permission to come back again. There's about 6 acres to hunt, and except for a tree where their pets are buried, I'll pretty much have free range hunting. If anyone from the Eastern part of Nebraska wants to tag along, I'll be going out there again on the 25th of March. Feel free to send me a PM. I need to do some research on the town, and find out when the church was there and hopefully narrow a few things down.

Ive did pretty good when I was a kid around old churches
One i found alot of indians heads - another everyone told me was cleaned out
at the time tons of guys had the new Whites machines that discrimated all nickles
I had an all metal machine - I was finding a ton of V nickles and buffaloes just off of the small
church granite stairs - I think they used to do the collection as people left here and back then Im guessing
5 cents was the normal donation- Good Luck

"I'll be going out there again on the 25th of March. " Did you mean May?

That's real nice of you to invite people. Here in Connecticut it would never happen. People are just that much nicer west of the Mississippi.
