I said I was checking on some history of this place and found ...

community center to right of church.

1. church built in 1895
2. there used to be a school by the community center beside the church
3. the best part...was told I could hunt all and if anyone gave me any grief to tell them this guys name and they could talk to him as he is basically the caretaker.

What unexpected luck. Yahoooooo!

It''s not all that big of a deal, but is only 2 miles down the road and I'm finding a little each time I go there. Yesterday my first IHP and silver necklace and today the requisite clad, quarters and a few zincolns. Then a 1962 Rosie, a 1901 IH, and my 2nd silver jewelry item in as many days. A small ring, but .925 silver.

After reading all the post with 1700s and older I'm a little embarrassed to post these, but until I do better I'll keep on plugging. Still loving it. :D

Happy diggin'

All the post in the 1700's?? There's not that many finding 1700's coins. That is a good hunt in my book. No need for embarrasment

Great finds there congrats.

Sweet place..
It is a big deal...IT"S CLOSE...and it holds some KEEPERS

No reason to hold your head down, young man. I went this last weekend, and found......that my hunting partner had told me the wrong place on my map, and I went where he had been......so, I wasted a full half-day, and was so tired from the hike that I went home after my discoveries.
Indian heads and silver.....good hunt. The older coins will come....maybe even in that area you are hunting. Hope so, for you.
