I'll try to figure something out but with so many details being... well, worn - it'll be tough.

Update: I'm useless... I just can't see enough to work with ... :( Sorry.

I found this website with coins that look similar to the one above. They are a bit larger, but the edges look similar. Also some coins don't have mintmark (blank reverse). I wonder if mine is one of them.

Yea, some are kinda wanting to be similar, but I don't see a match there. :( Maybe I'll get time tonight to look some more - this is gonna be a tough one! :)

I am thinking that the characters on the sides of the coin are those for T'ung Pao. The symbol on the bottom may be for Cheng. I am not sure about the top symbol (Hsuan?). There are no symbols on the reverse so this could be an older coin pre 1550s.

Any other suggestions?
