Had a couple hours to myself this afternoon, so decided to go hit a old cellar hole that has produced in the past. Tried around the hole for a bit, but it produced nothing, I have pounded this place in the past. So after almost saying the heck with it I spotted some apple trees with alot of growth around them, and thought I probably havent hit that so hard. So over I went, alot of iron but working it slow I got a good solid hit and popped out a 1862 injun. A few seconds later a small flat button. So Atleast I wasnt going home empty handed. Ended up getting a 1903 and a 1906 injun under the tree too, along with the thimble and suspender clip. So not a bad day at all.

Alrite Mainer, give you Kudos for gettin out in the dead of summer. Of always hunted all year round but not many do :-\ I like the Suspender Buckle and thimble :icon_thumleft:

And you got a few more Injuns to add to the "tribe" ;D Congrats my friend   :icon_thumleft:

I don't know how you guys always find things at these cellar holes :laughing9: :laughing9: When I was in school in upstate NY, I had to hunt at 10 different cellar hole sites and couldn't get a freakin signal ::) It seems they were all hunted/pounded/used & abused--- at least somebody can get something done at the cellar holes :icon_thumleft:

cool finds! seems when ya go back to sites ya thought ya pounded something always pops out and ya say how did i miss that? :dontknow:

Thanks guys. No competition here Jeff thats why I can usually go to a cellar hole and find something. 99% of them in this town have never been hunted. I like those odds. :icon_thumright:

Love the patina on the 1906 IH, good investigating skills :icon_thumright:

Nice tribe. Sure there is more hiding out there.....Matt

Those are neat finds. Have you ever used a small coil in trashy iron areas?

Nope, only have the stock 10.5 for the Explorer. Im getting a lot better at picking out the goodies in the trash. Iron Patch has helped me out alot with that. :icon_thumright:
