Found this in a yard last weekend. Can't find anything on it. Say GM and has a crown at the top. Back is blank and no id numbers

GM went to the familiar square ignition key and round door/trunk key in 1967. Prior to that the ignition key was octagon shaped. Hopefully this helps you narrow it down!

Could be a Caddie key and a good start on getting one like that Johnny Cash song "I got it one piece at a time" ... and it didn't cost me a dime. :laughing7:

If it says GM, it's not a Nash key. We would need a better photo to give any more info.

I'm not certain the one in the other thread was correctly ID'd: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/232973-cool-old-car-key-w-crown-found-5-down-s-uncut.html
-noting some differences in the groove pattern, etc.
I think these were aftermarket blanks available for Both GM and Ford, as they can be found in a search of "vintage crown car key" for GM's and more, and even monograms, as they have an applied rectangular customizable element to them.
