Old button ID

Hi ya'll, I took a button from a pre1800's house site. I have not been able to find anything that looks like it. It lost a lot when I clean it up. It has a horse and rider with the right arm up holding a cutlass. There was white paint and raised letters around the edge. It about the size of a nickle. It hard to make out the details, as mentioned, but is it possible that instead of a cutlass it is a riding crop, similar to the scene on this one: Antique Brass Sporting Button Steeple Chase Horse Scene Floral BK MK Cuff Size | eBay

close, before I cleaned it you could see the cutlass good it was long and curved. There was an * at the bottom with letters all around the outside.,,,,,thanks,,jon
