I found these today and needed some expert eyes.
I think this is a reins guide but I am not sure.
Is it?
Any idea of age?

I think this is an old button designed around a Roman coin.
I read a posting here from 2005 but there was limited info.
BURG CO TYR 1780 X ARCHID AVST DUX
Any idea of age?
The back just crumbled away but the front still has detail.

The coin is an odd piece. Judging by the lettering it's from Habsburg from Austria. The lettering DUX BURG CO TYR 1780 X ARCHID AVST translates to Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol, 1780, Archduchess of Austria. The X next to the year, sometimes referred to as cross or saltire, indicates that the coin has been struck following the coinage convention of 1753. There are no bronze or copper coins from Austria with these inscriptions so I believe your coin might be some medal replica of a Maria Theresia - 1 Thaler ('The Most "Famous/Beautiful" Coin In The World'). Even tho it dosen't have the portrait of Maria Theresia on the Obverse it's likely possible it is a nice old replica.

The round object with a hole looks to me to be a stripped lifting eye bolt.

Very nice relic coin or perhaps a button. :icon_thumleft:

Its a modern blazer button coping that type of Austrian Thaler. A 'coin' button...

Nice finds. Congrats
