Old bullet?

Hi guys,

So I was at the beach today and found this old metal object that looks like a bullet. It's hollowed out. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what kind of bullet it was and how old it may be. It's about 3/4 of an inch and a bit slanted when standing. Pictures below. Thanks!

Not sure what it could be but I don't think its a bullet. Is it brass? What part of which country did you find it?

I think it's brass - it was found on a beach on Long Island.
