Old buckle or possibly horse tack?

I found this metal detecting an old logging road in the woods of Tallahassee Florida. There was civil war activity to the north of the site. I'm not suggesting that this is from the civil war era. I have no idea. The area has potential for old finds. This looks old to me but not sure
