I found this ring in a of junk finds I had in my find cabinet. I vaguely remember finding it at a colonial cellar hole that produced nearly 20 early coppers. I figured that the ring was probably late 1800's of early 1900's costume jewlery, and put it in my pocket without further thought. After looking at it again today, I am thinking that it may be a little bit older than I previously thought based on the design which looks hand carved. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Try taking the pictures again with the flash turned on. As is they ae too dark for a good id.

I have found a few of these style rings, just not carved like yours. everything else is the same on them as yours except the carving. They all came from sites that dated from early 1800's at hte earliest to early 1900's at the absolute latest. My guess was as well was mid to late 1800's

Thanks! That sounds like a very reasonable date range, I'm going to mark this as solved.
