We found this brass goblet under a cannon in the British Virgin Islands. Any idea of the era, worth?
The cup is about six inches from top to bottom. Under a cannon meaning, the wreck of the Rome, off the island of Tortola, about 500 yrds off of the wreck, a cannon was pulled up from 130 ft out of a sandy coral bottom.Blacksheep said:Welcome to TNET , Cool item. Could you add a coin/ruler for size reference and could you also
clarify "under a cannon" , such as in silt/mud etc. A pic of the cannon could also help date your
goblet.![]()

Appreciate the info, there might be a few familiar enough here to help but would hate to venture a guess and possibly lead you in the wrong direction. You could try this forum http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/board,5.0.html , where they are much more familiar with this type of find. (I think)
Best of luck on your goblet.
(Would love to learn more about the "Rome", any links?)
