So i got the photos a boy scout camp from the early 1900's this land is on the outskirts of a woods area next to my father in laws home. The buildings are no longer there. I found a few bucks in clad all from the late 60's so i know silver is there... But from what i found i am pretty sure i found the camp. I have a new photo box so wanted to try it out. The bottles i found are a bubble up, pepsi, and kay-o anyone help me date it?? What do u guys think?

Well I can tell you from first hand experience. Original boy scout camps can be loaded and are good producers. I found (1917 to 1940) and detected one here in Central Pennsylvania and it was generally loaded with old silver.........Barbers, Mercs, Indians & Wheaties. The first camps were erected around 1917 so you can see the possibilities. The first boy scout campers used tents for mostly all their activities, find the tent area and your gonna find a lot of dropped coins. The stone buildings were erected later on.

My suggestion to you is go to the local library and check out the old newspapers on microfilm and get as much information you can, believe me, you will find all the activity that went on there over the years. Find the name of the camp first and go from there. Find postcards on Ebay if you can. Do a search, you'll be surprised what you'll find.

Yes, all those bottles you have there look familiar. The pepsi are ones I used back in the 50's and 60's and probably date before that, and so do the others

Good luck............Rich.

try and find some old timers in town andask them where it was exactly
like Rich said - they can be great
have one near me that was popular in the 40s thru 70s
myself and others found tons of cub scout and boy scout stuff as well as girl scout and brownie items
lot of silver too
Good Luck

Nice Finds ! I like the Bubble Up bottle, Although Rare in the Machines & stores
around here, I used to drink
it, when I found it

Hello issombeituni Sweet finds. What is the big round thing with all the writing on it? HH C9

Hello issombeituni,

Your oldest bottle is the Kay-O Chocolate Soda. It could date to the early Twenties. It'd namesake Kay-O was a character in the Moon Mullins comic strip.

The bottles may have manufacturer & date information embossed on the base or heel of the bottles. The most recent is the Bubble-Up, looking early to mid Sixties from here. Man, that stuff was CARBONATED!
