I posted a while back about some really nice finds, including Large Cent, my only silver 1/2 reale among others found at old foundation site by Rev. War era cemetary, school and nunnery. A lady who owns the property had a description of the local history she gave me and it said across from her property there was a blacksmith shop. They have been working on that property, rebuilding a house, and I've been meaning to get over there, but every time I went for permission the owner wasn't there. I finally caught up with him over the weekend and he was a nice guy and gave me permission, but immediately I look and see lots (20-30 really old bottles, all complete bottles, small, large, square, brown, clear, some with writing, some without. Some had these glass plug tops still in them (that pull out). Great looking bottles. I'm not into them, but I knew it was an amazing spot and I'm going to get back there and take a photo of them all for the site. He might not even want them, I know I should have asked. So, I was probably too late to detect the site. I did find an old button, but nothing else. See in the time it took for me to get to him, he had bulldozed a large section of a hill nearby and covered the entire site with too much dirt for my detector to penetrate, who knows, maybe a foot. However, where the bottles where buried, there were more sticking out of the dirt! I pulled a few out by hand and I'm sure there are a ton more buried there. I know some of you who are into bottles are going to go nuts about this.
