wesfrye53, there's a section of TNet titled "Favorites" and in there some good books have been discussed. Are you interested in all kinds of books, or are you thinking of treasure hunting books? Of all the websites PBK listed, the addall site is my personal favorite.

Being a bibliophile myself, I'd enjoy having more discussions about books, particularly treasure hunting books.

Well, there you go, TT! I knew we had something in common! :D

Yes, addall.com is arguably the best— and certainly a great place to start.

Over the years I have obtained a number of old books (mid-1800's) from my family. i.e. : an 1851 edition of "Uncle Tom's Cabin", an 1846 edition of "Manners and Customs of the American Indians", and some with no copyright date.

I was just curious where a good discussion place may be as I am constantly amazed at the wealth of knowledge in this group.

Thanks for giving us a little more to go on. You might want to take PBK's suggestion and check out ebay's recent sales of those titles (if any recent sales have occurred), and also check out prices on addall.com. Keep in mind, some of the prices are so high for some selections on addall.com's comparison lists that they probably will never sell. You might want to look at the high and low prices, throw those out, and then look at the mid-range prices for a more accurate valuation of your books.

Do you want to sell the books? There are at least two book dealers who are members of TNet. You might want to PM them. One is bookfisher and the other is..uh..I forgot. Sorry :-[

PBK, we also share a dislike for certain actors/actresses, if I remember correctly. LOL ;)

Another cautionary note about addall.com and similar sites... Unfortunately, some dealers whose inventories are searched are not too conscientious about updating. As a result, their price listings are occasionally well below current market values— an exasperating fact when one discovers that such "bargains" have long since been snapped up. :P
