Old Bookaroo posted a ton of stuff on here and generally proved himself to be both knowledgeable and generous with his information. About 6 months ago hisd posts abruptly stopped. I had just bought some books from him through Ebay, and those purchases were covered and the product deleivered. His abrupt and complete absence from Treasurenet has bothered me. Does anyone know what happened to Old Bookaroo?

I too have been looking high and low for him! I have emailed him directly, but to no avail, and I am becoming quite concerned! He used to contribute huge amounts of information on T-net, and unlike most people is very good at posting his sources. I sent him another IM asking him to contact me a few days ago, but haven't heard back. If anyone knows his current status, let the rest of us know so we stop worrying!

Can a moderator please tell us if he was indeed banned? I certainly hope not!

Seems unlikely, his account still shows up and given the sheer volume of posts he made it's unlikely he did anythign that got him banned. He also stopped selling on Ebay in the last 6 months, about the same time period as he end to posting on here. Bookaroo was a wealth of information on a lot of topics and worked with Karl Von Mueller on reprinting some of his materials. It seems likely there is a different explanation for his absence and I fear the explanation that keeps coming to mind...

If that's the case, he wasn't banned. If I offended anybody I apologize. No offense intended. I just remembered there was a lot of political controversy at about that time, and thought maybe that was why he was gone.

He is sadly missed as his posts was always informative and he always kind to assist people where possible. A big thumbs up in my book. I hope he is well?

It was very shortly after he played a part in getting the old Second Amendment forum shut down with the help of some others that he simply vanished. Some who are still here and several who were banned. Not trying to open old wounds. Simply suggesting a possible explanation for his absence. Just wondering if losing a few of his co-conspirators left a bad taste in his mouth and caused him to find a new playground.. I believe he had been buddies with pippinwhitepaws and Native Floridian to name a couple.. :dontknow:

Yes, he had grown quite tired of the political stuff going on with T-net, as had many of us. But that would not explain his silence when sent direct emails outside of this site.
I would like to buy some books from him, and told him so in my emails to him, and heard nothing back at all. That is not like him to do, thus my concern.
 

Well I hope he's ok. He & I had quite a few civil discussions privately in spite of our differences in political views. He was always polite rather than rude and I respect that.

Riiiight,, Tired enough to post in Every Single Topic. That does seem tired in a revisionist sort of way.

wow, your post made me notice they were gone. How did I miss that?
 

Though I disagreed with Book on the political front, had him on my "ignore" list, I meant him no harm whatsoever. I recognized his expertise in other areas...

AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM BACK HERE, PERIOD!!!

From each we can learn, and now his brilliance no longer shines here.

Sooooo.... Somebody invite him back!!! I pray all is well in his world.

Pippins and Native Floridian were both banned, don't know where Old Bookaroo is, his last login was Feb 3 2014...
