I don't know the current values of your bills, but I think the US Note is the real keeper in the bunch just because it's not a FRN. Compared to today's money, these bills look so much more respectful IMHO.

I forgot to say that the 100 says redeemable for gold on demand.

That's gonna make it worth more than face value - from a collector's perspective!! Unfortunately, it is no longer redeemable for gold. You know that FRN's are only supported by thin air, right?

I just got a crisp series 1950 $100 bill in change the other day, no folds, no nothing. Looks almost like it did when it was printed. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue what they're worth either.

Maybe an e-bay search? ???

Hey, 1950 isn't so old (I was "printed" in 1950!!). And what kind of bill did you break in order to get a C-note in your change? Did you break a $1,000 bill? ::)

No, I took in a couple boxes of halves... so it was actually change for change.... ;D

trival time --who's on the 500 and 1000 dollar bill---the 10,000 bank to bank only notes?

I was gonna give the answer but I see you only gave us 7 minutes to respond. Shucks! I've seen a 500 and 1000 bill in a casino display in Reno many, many years ago. Trying to cram all those numbers into the corner of the bill made them look odd. I'm accustomed to seeing a single 1 in the corner of my money - not all those zeroes! :D

Jeffro, you're a coin roll hunter? That seems like such a great way to find silver and collectible coins. I'm old enough to remember when silver was the general circulation coinage - if only I had hoarded coins back then. Sigh......

I Coin Roll hunt
I got 16 40% halfs , 3 90%'s halfs and a Ben Franklin half
Out of a Box of 1000 coins.

Nice going coincollector101!!! I'm really thinking I should try CRH. Now, as for your currency - I'll give you $124.00 for all of them. ;)

did you mean the $100 was the gold because it doesnt seem to be the same as the ones pictured in the black book.(price guide to papermoney) I do have a crappy monitor and its hard to tell for sure. :-\
1928 gold certs good 220 v fine 650 unc 3800
1928 frn v fine 190-245 unc 525-725
hope this helps
also good luck on the ten boxes

yes up to 1933 the us was on the "gold" standard --then from 1933 to 1964 the silver standard ---since 1964 it on the "paper" or in god we trust - (that its actual worth something) standard which is why our money will not buy squat these days and the value of a dollar just keeps dropping thru the floor steadly--- germany after WW 1 suffer the same thing but much faster and worse --hyper inflation---got to where you needed 100,000 marks for a loaf of bread and million mark notes were "common" every day items---scary----Ivan

Agreed.

Nice finds, coincollector. The colors in the old bills are really something to behold---quite different from hues in our current currency. Finding the old bills is becoming extremely difficult, so hold onto those pieces or paper!

Happy Hunting.
