This morning I hunted what used to be the site of an old barn. It is now a ball park. Looking at arial photos from the 1940's there was a home right were the pitcher mound is now. I just didn't want to dig right in the middle of the baseball field, if ya know what I mean. But the barn that was fairly near the old house site is now just a small playground that is no longer used just beyond the ball field. That is where I decided to hunt. I started not to post this, because it ins't anything exciting. But hey.....I found it! And the finds are consistent with an old barn site!
It's two old axe heads that were DEEP! Both were easily a foot or more down. I broke one accidentally. Then half an old file and half a horse shoe. A modern dime and part of a bracelet of some sort. Thanks for looking...

Its awesome when your research pays off.

Hey, ya' got out and found some old stuff that you researched. That's a good scouting hunt for sure. Must be a few old coins laying about somewhere? Thanks for posting TR.:hello:

Looks like you found the right spot! I like it when I find an old building site from a 250 year old map. Check local library or state university for old maps. Alot online.

Keep working the site...goodies are waiting for your coil! :occasion14:

Old iron is a great find in my book. It's not shiney and pretty but it tells a story of days gone by. It can show how hard life used to be. Thanks for sharing.

Now that’s the way to do it! Stay after it that site may have more goodies! Good luck on your returns!
