Hello again, forgive me if I should have posted this with my other post, just didnt know.
Found this axe head along the banks of the river, below a bridge that was destroyed by union loyalists several times, at first I thought it a modern axe, then I thought civil war axe, then after seeing this guys site (http://metaldetectingworld.com/photogalary/rev_war_relics/pages/RW22.htm) and him saying his was a Rev./French and Indian war axe, I got excited...it looks alot like this one only mine appears to have had the back prying/hammer end broken off.
The width of the blade is around 4.25", the length the broken back is around 5", there are no visible marks due to decay. Anybody think electrolysis can save this one??
As always any help is appreciated...I have exhausted myself researching this one...
