Old and (supposedly) animal skin canoe

...found at an estate sale today. there are a few very interesting things there! This canoe has been sitting in a garage for at least 50 years. It is supposedly made of animal skin- what kind, I do not know.

Anyone know abut animal skin canoes? LOL Seriously, it could be a very interesting piece of canoeing history. Wish I knew more about it.
