After the train passed Twistidd called me and asked if we were still out hunting and we decided to try our luck at another section of woods just on the other side of the street. I have hunted there a good 5 times and found some old coins over there but after awhile the place just seemed to dry up. Well Twistedd started going back hunting there and coins just started popping up again. As soon as we walked in Twistidd got a coin signal, and not more than 3 minutes and 15 feet away I got a coin signal. Its funny how you can hunt the same place over and over again and still be able to go back and still find old coins. When I dug the token Twistidd was filming me, we were positive that it was gonna be a deep quarter but when I pulled it up and ran my finger across it all's I saw was shiny gold!!!! I thought I found my 1st $10 coin and about had a heart attack!!!! We were just looking at each other in total shock, its funny - check it out on the video. LOL

Gottcha! You had a great dig all the same Kermit.

Next time try NOT saying "No way" so much!

Kermit, question for you. Why would you rub what you thought to be a gold coin or token with your gloves when it's stilled covered in dirt? Same with the silver dime? I'm not picking on you as I have done the same thing, that was until I turned what would have been a nice VF 1918S half into a piece of junk by covering it with scratches. HH and nice finds!

Honestly I never give it a second thought (though I should), I just wanna know what I find and get caught up in the moment. Scratched or not they all end up in my collection.

Nice hunt, Fiend. I know the feeling that you had with that token. My first mexican coin came out all shinny and gold colored. My heart almost stopped, for a second.

That adrenaline rush is what keeps us going back. Great hunt and video TF!!!

:laughing9: That play money will be memorable -- oh the excitement followed by such a let down.

I once found one of those gold colored canadian dollars about 5 inches down in a park and had a similar reaction. Great finds and nice Merc!
