The Drill and the half broken point were found by my 12 year old son(Connor), They were his first and I am really proud he finally found something, hopefully he is addicted for life. he was the first of my 6 kids to get a find. He was very excited.

Third from the left were found by my wife, the others by me.

These were found Saturday, Myself and my wife also went out sunday, the weather was very cold, Connor was so excited from his find on Saturday he wanted to go the next day also. but after only an hour he was very cold because we had dressed for Saturdays weather. My wife the trooper she is decided to stay on the river while I drove Connor home and picked up a few extra layers of cold weather clothing. by the time I made it back it had turned off very cold, 24 degrees and 20-30 mile winds, our waders iced over within a few moments of crossing water. lucky we have the gear to indure, and I might add it put a test to the equipment I had researched. I was happy I had done my homework.

Not bad finda at all, and I'm sure he will be asking you to take him more often. They look like they were found in a waterway from the polish they have. Some Kay County chert, and love the two tone point!

regarding the drill I would love to take some better "natural light photos" it is "very" white, whiter than any point I have seen, just as white as a blank sheet of paper. the crappy photo add's a strange tint.
too bad the flash and my bad photography does not do it justice.

Very nice finds sidmind. The Drill is a killer for sure and I really love the colors on the point right next to it.

Congrats on your finds and thanks for sharing the picture with us.

Congrats to Conner, and the wife. I like em all. the drill takes the cake with me also. I just love finding them. I also like Hard core rock hunters, that are not afraid of the cold and elements. I remember last winter walking a site with the wind chill like 13 below zero thinking to myself, How did these people live through the winters? My mind, just wouldn't let up on me the whole hunt running different scenarios through my head of what it must of been like, how the children and old coped with it. etc, etc. It made for a pretty neat hunt, and I came out with a hematite axe, as well as several points( So it was worth freezing my tail off for) I had my son hunting from about age 7, all he used to do is throw rocks and beat down mud clumps with his stick, if there was anything he could beat with his stick he was on it. I used to get so mad at him, if we were in a creek he would throw rocks and cloud the water up, and beat his stick on the water splashing the hell out of me. I am very happy to say that he is a flintfinder now and has grown out of all of that,(thank you God) and he has found some really nice stuff. he is very quick to rub it in when he gets the better of the hunt( which happens a lot) He is now almost 16 and is hooked for life, what a good thing to get your kids hooked on. Enjoyed your pics and the story. good luck on your next hunt. John

Nice finds, I hope your son 'gets addicted'. ;D
