Hi, I found this bullet while digging CW relics. I was pretty about 8 inches down and inside a dead tree. The bullet totally inside petrified wood. At no point is the bullet visible. The tree grew totally around the bullet. It's not large enough to be a mini. In the wood actually looks like a shark tooth. Anyway, The whole piece is 1 inch in length. Could be a CW bullet or something more modern. I posted some pictures to give you a better idea. So we would do what at this point? I assume leave it in? Just want all your opinions.

i would, leave it in if you can.

Suggesting you leave it that way. It's much more interesting with the wood.

I'd leave it the way it is also. Looks pretty cool. And it is unique.

Im with you guys. The little fella will be trapped in in his llittle wooden tomb for eternity. :o

HMMM...so all you can see is a piece of wood? Well...maybe if it were me, I might do a cross section cut to be able to see the bullet if it were going in a display. :) I don't know. :P :D

Definitely leave it in the wood. Great conversation piece. Gunsmith friend of mine once had a guy bring in a pistol embedded in a chunk of apple tree. He wanted it "restored". Gunsmith put a new lock and stock on it and the guy never picked it up. Now it's in my collection, but I would much rather have it in original condition still stuck in the wood.

Agreed

... and not that it matters, but it adds value if left in the wood, you sould ever want to part with it.

I like Nana's idea with the displayed cross-section!
