Arrived home from work tonight, took one look and my son and before we knew it we were back at the coast poking around in the pebbles, having found a nice ring there on the last trip. Whatever possessed us to go, I'll never know.

Sounds like a nice lead-in to a success story, but what I left out is that it was 16?F, sun set at 4:53pm and a steady wind was blowing (forgot about the windchill factor until the machine was already swinging). I really had put the detector into hibernation in the basement last week and thought I had gotten over the fact that the ground was too frozen to dig in (even most playground sand).

Tonight we had several good signals, couldn't reach any of them. Found a curious rock that read in the foil range, so that's pretty much what we brought home... a single rock. No pull tabs on this trip! ;D

Sorry to hear the season is over. I was lucky last year and was able to detect New Years day and the rest of the week before the ground sealed/froze in it's treasure here in Germany. I have a big pile of finds to clean and sort when it freezes. HH, Mike

Hey Gadget, sorry your season is coming to an end. Ours here in Vermont may have another four weeks, before the ground is solid like a rock. Take care...Lance

Grounds not frozen here yet but its cold :-\ Wish the hunting season could last all year :'( I get alot of those rocks too, they are blackish orangish.

Time is ticking fast for us in the upper half of the states, got a bit of "Indian Summer" this week here in New York but the weekend is changing colder with rain. It'll be frozen soon enough though. I hope we don't see 16 degrees anytime soon! Two more months I hope!!!

:'( Sorry to hear it.. :'(

But....at least you've come to a place where you can just pull up a chair and be entertained all winter! :D

;)

Time to start taking the Prozac.

Oh no! Don't tell me it's going to be up to me and the few of us here that live in the desert SW to do all the detecting this winter! Tell me it ain't so! *sigh* ok. If ya'll want, I promise that I'll do my part to detect at least a couple of times a week and do some posts so ya'll can get your MD fix. Oh, the awesome responsibility! *sigh* ;)

HH, ya'll!
