Okay, Here's The Rest Of My Finds... Wasn't Much Of A Gamble

I showed you last weeks finds yesterday. Here are this weeks finds, all from one house. An estate sale that had been listed all week with a phone number to buy before the sale on Saturday. I wasn't expecting much because of that. It was my last stop on on an otherwise dismal day of garage sales. I bought nothing until I got to this house. Here's the first pics-

Now thats a haul! It'll take days to list though...
That's my main problem. I need to hire someone to list all my stuff, give 'em a %, lol. It took 2 hours to make the above post.

Hot smoke diggumup! That is how it's done!

I love those rough mornings when there is nothing but junk and that last g-sale makes up for an entire month.

What kind of situation was the owners in? Dead relative or just needed cash or needed a clue?

I hope you haven't stopped smiling for days. HH

I LOVE IT.......I love the plane, great score on the silver.....your score reminds me of my past 30 years of digging for artifacts, you never know what the next shave of the wall will produce

See thats my problem as well...

Those finds are amazing and I would have been happy to stumble upon even half of them at such a price.

However, the time and effort it will require to list them all to maximize your return is a lot. You almost need to take a week or 2 off of work to handle selling it all. That is why I have been buying with "flea market" resale in mind. If I can AT LEAST double if not triple my money at the flea market, then it is a buy for me.

Of course, I still save the highest valued items for ebay to list a few here and there in the colder months.

Again, incredible haul. Congrats!

Nice haul! I'd love to stumble across a sale like that!

Dig:

Those finds are amazing. We can do well around here, but I am thinking of moving to Florida.

I especially like the Fiesta ashtray. Would look good in my wife's collection.

I've found one single casino silver strike in my entire life...and you found a desk drawer full of them.

Being a WWII enthusiast, I love the T-6 trainer. Seems that the bottom fell out of that market. Balsa used to be as hot as fire.

Speaking of T-6 trainers, five of them followed a B-25 Mitchell as part of the flyover for the 2013 Indy 500. I am a huge fan of the Indy 500, and have been for almost all my life. Very cool find on the tie piece. I've never seen one of those before.

The Disston saw button screw can be dated here:

Great haul D!

About the Golden Nugget playing cards.
Is the background of the pack brown or black?
Makes a difference in price.

It was an estate sale. It had been listed for several days with a phone number for "pre-sales". The sale was being held by the next door neighbor. The guy passed away and he was a buyer/collecter almost hoarder type I guess. She said that some "estate sale specialist" already took 8 pick up truck loads out of the house already. Including large bank bags full of silver coinage and several bags of jewelry. Here's the kicker... He didn't pay for a single thing. The executor or personal representative of the estate was either too trusting/gullible or he knows the guy real good or something and trusts him (I don't think the latter though). I never laid eyes on him, he wasn't there. The lady (neighbor) said she had no say in it because she isn't the one in charge of the estate, she's just getting rid of the rest of the "junk" that they didn't take. She also told me he owns the coin shop in Hollywood Presidential circle. So he is the one that took everything and paid nothing (yet? who knows?). I know she was po'd about it and was threatening to turn him in to the FBI (lol) during my conversation with her about it. She said the guy didn't actually live at the house, he more or less used it for storage. Also said they filled 2- 30 yard roll offs with garbage and junk. I just know they threw away all kinds of good stuff, they had to. The silver strikes were in one of two Crown Royal bags, the other one had the one dollar brass and metal casino tokens as well as the regular chips. The silver jewelry type items came out of a box that was filled with mostly cuff links, and junk jewelry. Some of the other small things came from another box that was filled with little trinkets and stuff that I dug through and cherry picked out of. I spent about 2 hours digging through stuff and searching through boxes. Then I went back the next day (Sunday) and spent another hour there. Spent $75 on Sat and $50 Sun. No one there either day except the lady selling the stuff. I was complaining about what a lousy day it was just before we got there,then... BAM! lol.

Thanks Ben. I'm sure some of it will go into the next garage sale I have and i'll eventually sell a lot of it on ebay. I'm keeping the bug zapper and the fogger (Florida mosquitoes are bad) as well as the 7" digital tv and the wife claimed the Tom Tom and the pinball machine. As for the silver, I guess i'm in it for the long haul since it is still dropping like dead flies. I'll sell the stuff that will get a premium but most of it is being hoarded.

Thanks for the link. The Disston medallion is from 1888-1896, 1" with the 6 pointed stars. PM me your addy and I will send/give you the Indy 500 tie clip if you want it. On the Fiesta ashtray, I found a small chip that has been repaired upon closer examination (bad lighting and bad eyes), good repair job but a repair nonetheless. It's sitting on the back porch. The wife smokes unfortunately.

Oh I almost forgot. I did buy a set of Pfaltzgraff dishes there too. It's about 30 pieces or so. Midnight Sun is the pattern.

Amazing! Recognized those casino silver rounds immediately and my jaw dropped! AWESOME find on the Golden Nugget cards! Lots of casino decks go unsold, I doubt you'll have that problem! Also, I'm glad that someone else knows not to overlook keychains
