I found these 2 in the same spot and am baffled on them. Both have very short to no stems and have serrated edges. Rite about 2 inches in length and 1 inch wide with 1 ear on each. Made from black chert and found in N Ga 1 hour from Tn border. I would like to have a name to call them so I can put a age to them. Thanks, rock 100_2019.JPG100_2020.JPG100_2102.JPG100_2101.JPG100_2098.JPG Any help would be great.

The top one is probably an Appalachian. It could be a Sumter depending on where you found it. The rock looks like it is from the Woodland period.

I have found good size rocks of the same material here in TN and when I had them checked I was told they were flint even tho they do not give off a spark of any kind...So I am going to say they are like yours and be it chert lol

Yes the dark flint is known to be Chert by name. I was interested in the points as to what their names were, but thank you for your interest.

I took these 2 to a show they had in Ga. Artifacts, and they said the first one was a Archaic knife and the other looked like a Morrow Mountain to the bottom pic. And the Chert name is Skunk Chert cause it is usually black with white in it. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Dr Ken Tankersley is a GENIUS in identifying arrowheads. He's at the University of Indiana. I have his email address if you (or anyone) would like it.

Nice find!! I found these 3 in Purvis, Mississippi. It's not a very good photo, but all that I have available at this time. Also, I had found 2 complete arrowhead's, but unfortunately for me somebody stole them from my collection. =( 113121.jpg

I hate thiefs and liars are just as bad in my book. Those are some fine looking artifacts you have there. They look to be unifacial tools. Which means worked only on one side and the other side is usually flat. We have a Artifact page here if you want to check it out sometime. I would like to see any others you might have in that page. Ty everyone, rock
