As some know, I've been playing with a few friend's AT-PROs while deciding what to upgrade my trusty ole Groundhog. Oh, the Groundhog isn't going anywhere, it's too much of a friend now.

But, I'm a little confused about what the treasure hunting gods are trying to tell me. My brand new AT-PRO arrived today. So, I planned on going to a local school ground that sits on some old farmland. I was also planning on a large kick off to the 2nd half of my amateur archeology career, with a very large post showing all the finds of the day. But, especially, the very first find with my new machine, WHATEVER it turned out to be! :)

I got there, started to gear up, and...........the skies opened up! :(

I just couldn't bring me to wait for the rain to stop and hunt anyway. (I didn't want my new toy to get muddy. At least, not so fast. I think I heard the ole Groundhog giggle! ;) )

Anyway, I put everything back away. picked up supper and went back home. The grand opening will be delayed. :(

More to follow, bet on that! :)

It out. Sure it will be great!

Oh yeah. I know. Actually, the Groundhog is too, for the most part. ;)

Just didn't want my first try with the new machine to be complicated by such messy conditions.

Tomorrow's soon nuff. ;)

Thanks!

It's been alternating between torrential rain here and sunshine all day long--crazy. Seemed to clear up this afternoon and I headed out at 5 PM. Yup, you guessed it, 2 minutes into the hunt.....DOWNPOUR!! :dontknow:

Just go ahead and scratch it with your lesche then give it a mud bath. That way you don't have to cringe when you do it on accident like I did mine. Think it works better with a scuff and some grit anyhow.

I'll wait 'til next time out. If it rains, it's going into the baptismal pool for a swim! ;) Once, ok. Twice? Time to get down. LOL

I gave it one reprieve. :)

New toys and new tools look great right outta the box. But even better once their scuffed up a bit.

Congrats on the new toy. :occasion18:

Thanks! I know the tool is for the job it's made for, but , it's only NEW once. After the first target it becomes the tool. I am in no hurry to knock the shine off, but believe me, as my Groundhog could tell, I most assuredly, eventually WILL! LOL :)
