Found these on old home location from the 1860-70 period. The semi round (copper) objects with the holes. lower left of pic.
Other items I know.
The harmonica reed makes me think maybe something musical? Probably way off, just wondering out loud. As you can see there was more shootin' than composin' goin' on.

Thanx

The "semi round copper objects at lower left in the pic" are a variety of shoe-sole toe protectors which was patented in 1859. See photo below. Your variety has larger holes for the stitching which held the protector onto the front of the shoe's sole.

Cannonball Guy is totally right. They come in all styles. I have a big bag of them, including some like yours and some like the one CBGuy posted.

you guys are right on top of things. I had no idea. Shoes and or boots must have been a major expense. required heal and toe/sole protection to get all the life out of a pair.
Thanks to you both.

Several of the items would require close up pictures, sizes, and descriptions (like the markings on the shell casings). But there are a few (like the hook at the right) that look familiar enough that I suspect someone will recognize them as is.?. Although if there are markings on the hook it may expedite the ID.

And I might add, when you're taking close-up pics of these objects, don't use a light colored background; a medium blue or green works well. :) Breezie
