OK ,OK.. IS THE "F75-F75LTD" TOP NOTCH OR A PIECE OF JUNK??????????????

I'VE GOT A WHITES MXT, WHICH I LOVE. IT IS TRULY AN AWSOME MACHINE. BUT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SEEL IT TO GET AN F75 LTD. BUT AFTER READING MANY, MANY REVIEWS. I'VE GOT SECOND THOUGHTS. TO MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING THAT THEY ARE BUILT CHEAP AND OF POOR QUALITY. THEY ALSO SAY THAT ITS JUST A BIG TOY CHATTER BOX. ALL IN ALL IT'S NOT WORTH BUYING........WITH THAT SAID, ALL MY HUNTING BUDDIES USE FISHERS AND LOVE EACH ONE. IVE READ ALOT OF HIGH REMARKS FROM USER'S OF THE F75 AND F75LTD. THEY SAY ITS THE NEXT BEST THING TO ICE TEA. AND RECOMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEY SAY IT'S JUST A TOTAL AWSOME MACHINE....... SO, WITH THAT SAID, WILL A USER OF THE F75 LINE OF DETECTOR'S PLEASE LAY IT ALL ON THE LINE HERE. I DONT WANT NO SALES REP BANGGIN ON THE FISHER TO TRY AND SELL WHITES MACHINES OR VICE VERSA. IWANT TRUE DOWN TO EARTH ANSWERS AND TESTIMONIES. PLEASE BE HONEST. GIVE THE GOOD AND THE BAD OF THESE MACHINES. WEITHER YOU LIKE THEM OR NOT....... THANKS, FROM "A CONFUSED MIND"

I've been using the F75 LTD for about a month now and I think it's a fine machine. It's going to be a LOT different then your MXT though (and a lot deeper too ).

It doesn't have to be a chatter box, it depends on how you set it up. I posted a review of it after using it for about 30+ hours within the first week of getting it, maybe I should just put the review here too, but here's a link to the one I posted elsewhere:

Most of the folks that claim it's "cheaply" made seem to have an axe to grind with the current First Texas/Fisher Research Labs marriage. It's not cheap at all, in fact it's the most ergonomic machine I've ever used (can swing it all day without any fatigure whatsoever). It's not a tank like the old Fishers from Los Banos, it's a modern machine, with a modern design, but like the T2 and F75 legacy, it can take a beating and keep on ticking. My finds have increased with this machine, and I still have a bit to learn on it, but it's easy to setup and it works well.

That said, put my vote down for TOP NOTCH :headbang:

Hey check out KellyCo's site and how the F-75 spanked all the other competitors - winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in competition.

A wake-up call, for sure.

And the LTD is a bit better too.

Keep the MXT, get a used F75. I have a DFX and an F75. I have been miles away from home and if I am not finding much with one I switch out. One thing is the F75 needs practice when learning the pinpoint. All of the Whites are jewels, the F75 is a good depth machine but my adaptability to the pinpointing was a learning curve. You always will need two machines.

I use the MXT and just got the F75LTD .

They are very different machines, have used other Fisher machines like the weight factor and ergonomics.
When deciding on the F75LTD my comparision was the Minelab E-Trac and Whites V3

Have not used it enough to give a review but will say I will learn as I go. Never had any intention of parting with the MXT it's a keeper, just wanted more depth in some areas and think the F75LTD will keep me happy.
The build was not a concern it feels good, chatter it does but that could be my lack of time with it.

I know how that is i don't have to many dealers around me and if no one i know has a detector i was thinking i might want to buy.......... It is really hard to get to know the detector you might buy it and hate it and you might buy it and love it........ At times i bought a used one on line and if i did not like it turn around and sold it..... but that is a pain to go through that...... at one time we had a dealler here called snoopie but he moved away about 9 years ago . He knew his detectors and had a good supply of different models......... now we don't have a dealer........... have one on the west side of Cleveland about 2 hours away but me and a buddy went there about 6 years ago he would not let us try out the detectors he would go outside and use them and say that is how this one works.Said if we used them out side he would have to sell it as used then we could hold them and look at them but not try them out..............SO WE NEVER WENT BACK TO THAT DEALER........

When they work they are a hi performance detector, compared to a MXT it is like comparing a Corvet to a Honda Civic. Harder to learn and use, but deeper and faster. I don't know about all F75s but mine has been back to the factory twice for repair in the 2 years since I got it. I have had to take the vol. control knob off, I kept bumping it and turning it down. The battery door does seem to stay on now since I got it back from the factory last time and it doesn't shut its self off when I sit it down too hard any more. It might be a modern design, but its not built as rugged as the Los Banos designs. All in all I do plan to keep it.( for the performance, not the design and workmanship).

definately not a "piece of junk"

I have three. two f75's, and one LTD.
One F75 is an origonal thats never had to be sent back in for anything, (including 'upgrades") and its still going strong. (with hundreds and hundreds of hours)The other is a back up that I expect to last my lifetime.
The LTD is simply an F75 with a few new cool tools, and now that I have one..it would be VERY hard to go back to the classic F75. ;D
I love the power of all the machines, the ergonomics, AND the build quality.
I had a friend that complained of his machine shutting off on him occasionally, and I wondered why, till I hunted with him. When he got a target, he would literally drop the machine from about three feet to dig the target. when he stopped doing THAT, he stopped having problems! :icon_thumleft:
Yep, I'll give em a "not a piece of junk" rating. They have put a LOT of targets in my pouch, and hopefully will continue to do so for a long long time...................... Streak!

I have never had a better season since I got the F75 last year. It might take a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it it's well worth it. I learn a little something new every time out with it, like the sound of a silver dime at 10" or better, and I must've dug a dozen or more at that depth which impressed the hell out of me.
