Ok, need help, how did I do? - Mcdonalds light fixture

Ive been doing very well lately at a couple of estate auctions and a couple yard sales that I haven't posted about yet, but I JUST picked this up and not sure of any type of value, I just kind of took a chance on it. Paid $25 She said it was given to her daughter in 1982 by Mcdonalds when they sponsored her as a Nationals Tumbler. Been in storage since. It needs cleaned BAD. Lots of degreaser in its future. First of all, its not glass, but a very thick plastic. There is one spot on the top crown around the lighting plate that has a crack in it. Any idea of a value on this? If I throw it on ebay, should I price it high or start it at $1 and let it go?

39 lookers and no comments. Is it junk, should I trash it?

Have not seen one of those before...look at the completed listing for the hamburglar lamp! $$$$ I would picture and describe it well and place it over $400 BIN just to see if it sells within a couple weeks. After people see it and start watching the item you can switch it to an auction starting over $250 and see if you catch some bidding fighters. Very nice item!!!

If I am looking at the same one on eBay as the one here. I would get rid of that picture of it on the floor in favor of the one here. I'm sure there is a McDonalds owner out there who easily has the money to buy it and put it up. Seems like McDonalds allows for some flexibility in their decor. I always give my weird finds a longer time.

No I don't have it on ebay yet. Didn't see one on there?

EDIT- ok I just found it. They don't have light or fixture in the title, its chandelier, so I didn't come across it the first time. They have it for $130 starting bid and hasn't had a bid yet. That's disappointing. I hit mine with a lot of degreaser and scrub pad and it looks a lot better. From the way that seller describes his, mine is in much better condition and the seller wont ship his.

There is also a secondone on ebay that is in wwhat looks like the same condition as mine for $440 w/ free shipping that hasn't sold

Not sure if I should throw mine up or what and see what happens with his.

It's gotta be worth $200-$300 to the right person, imo. Nice find. The one with (NYC) local pick up only will deter 99.8% of the possible buyers from bidding on it. So you can't really base anything on that listing.

Id say more like 99.99% of the potential buyers dig:). Id personally start it at $99.99 running it auction style. That's how you will have a better chance in starting a bidding war & yet still make almost 3x your investment if it does only sell for the opening bid price.

I went with the 99.8 because it was listed in NYC. Figured he may get a bite in such a large city. lol

Funny . I just got this one from a local Facebook/auction . I was the wining bidder of $23.00. I was told this came from Pizza Hut. The only thing wrong with it . Is were the seam is looks like it was repaired..

Ya I took in account that their in NYC... It's just when ever I sell something larger like that it always ends up going from here (Indy) to Northern California or Alaska or Hawaii or somewhere that is about as far away as it gets. You know how it goes!

UPDATE- Sold this light on ebay for $270 shipped. So, after $27 ebay fees, $10 paypal fees, $32 shipping and $25 purchase price, I made a profit of $176

It sold to a lady in Beverly Hills and when I looked her up, she has well publicized Mansion that is interestingly decorated and she is a founder of a clothing line and big into the arts community. Pretty cool!
