Was gonna say a lead bullet. But thats just some ore, with a lot of iron in it. Very rich too. Good job.

Kinda want to see it burn. It's cold in here.

It depends on the weight. If lightweight, coal. Coal at the beach makes my machine go off. If heavy or magnetic, iron ore.

We call them hot rocks or clinkers. They used to spread ashes on the crop fields and the clinkers were coal pieces that didn't burn.

IF VERY LITE - ..LOOKS LIKE WHAT WE CALL COKE ROCK

We call it Coke as well, left overs from the old steam engines that worked the land.

I live in an old coal mining town and have found alot of that. Coal from steam engines or residents who burnt coal for heating. Found a place in my yard that I think was used for dumping it.

Ok it's coal that was put in the goat field when it was farmed near plantation house site thanks that's what I thought it was just making sure don't see a lot of it in the beach area of the Carolinas

It's coke, coal heated without oxygen to drive off the more volatile components leaving mostly carbon, good for smelting. Coke is to coal as charcoal is to wood.

Found lots of that stuff around 1860s Mining areas. It's my understanding that it's made from burning wood without oxygen. Several Coke pits and standing piles of wood back where I used to hunt.

Oh sure we do see lots of it in SC coast. Especially where people cooked goats. Yum yum....

Yep,it looks like the hot rocks we find on occasion.Put them in your pouch so you won't have those get in your way on future hunts.

I have an I guess now ( iron ore} on my floorboard of my car Now I know what it is .
