The at pro is actually a lot better at nailing coins than the NOX 600!! I’m shocked. Wow minelab you got to a new level of low

Not nailing rusted ancient nails that the founding fathers created but nailing coins

I am writing the corporate headquarters of Minelab to convey my utter disappointment in reaching to a Garrett level low

I think it would be best if they donated me a ctx3030 for putting such a horrific taste in my mouth by allowing quality control to put a stamp of approval on such a great rust finder

This has really put a strain on my entire family

Cause the more rust I find the more I’m determined to not find it

= less time at home with my family and more time trying to make a machine find something it just is not capable of finding

Come on DD, don’t sugar coat it. Give it to us straight. lol

Send it to me for proper disposal.

I have an AT and told my brother he should buy a nox instead due to all the good finds shown on this forum. I can't find a silver coin to save my butt with the AT. Must be... location, location, location. Gary

you really should learn the machine before you come here and throw your lil hissy fit. they are both good machines if YOU would only take the time to LEARN what it's telling you..:laughing7:

I love my pro, however it does love those square nails, but it likes the coins too. I’m trying to master my ATMax now before my son claims it as his. I am going to buy a Nox 600 for the beach so I can get into the wet sand which the Garrett machine don’t do well in.

I would love to hear the criticism DDLoopscreamer81 has to say about the Ace 250, which I have been faithfully using for 10 years now.

I’m speaking for myself

I know I’m not some amateur and know kinda what I’m doing since doing it for 8+ years

I think it’s almost like a ford Chevy debate

But Subaru WRX will chew up and spit out both brands on a measly 2 liter

To clear the records I love all you fellow Explorers! Live and let live, swing and let swing, dig and let dig

Wow crap is getting deep in this thred :lurk:

We all forgive you DDLoop. At least I do. :notworthy: I've been using the lowest priced Garrett detectors since 1973. It's all I can afford. I'm pleased with the results. I started out with the Garrett Mini-Hunter. $99. Now the Ace 250 $212.

It must be location? DUUUUHHHH Treasure is where you find it. My AT Pro has sniffed out many silvers even running the scrim on high to keep out the iron. the AT will pick up everything. It will ring a BB at 8" I love mine. I find that my 3030 is fond of iron and have waived it over a 18K necklace with out so much as a beep. That on my part I believe is training training training which has nothing to do with where the treasure is :)

I totally understand the original intent of this thread. Everyone needs to vent sometimes especially after spending a bunch of money and not getting the results you expect.

Hell sometimes I go home saying that's it I'm done with this $#!+, then before the end of the week I'm back out there sweating and swearing.

Again if you don't like that NOX you can send it to me. I'd love a sponsorship ;-)

Lots of good signals are masked by those iron nails left behind that no machine on the planet can read all the good targets they are hiding beneath them. Only way to get to them is remove the iron.

I agree. I’ve had my 600 for just over a year now and I’m still trying to tweak it. It’s very sensitive now with the new update so you need to turn the sensitivity down. I bought the 6” coil and it does help to pinpoint better targets. It’s all about the tones. You need to train your ears all over again. I may even go back to the factory setting because it seemed to be a little quieter. I’m still learning this machine but I know it’s very capable of finding deep treasures that my gold bug pro can’t even come close to. Good luck.

Causing strain on your family? Maybe you're doing a parody.

ummm what exactly are you taking back? If you dont know about updates then you obviously havent read or understood the manual. It appears you also havent done any reading here at TN. I dont have an equinox but I know quite a bit about it just from bieng here.

Between trolling yourself and ranting Im surprised youve got time to detect at all!

I've got both machines and hardly any time on the EQ800 but thousands of hours on the AT. I still dig a rusty nails as I'll concentrate on the tiny high tone and hope it's a silver dime down deep amongst the trash.

This hobby isn't for everyone. You ARE going to dig trash since people drop trash a lot more than they drop treasure.

My opinion is that you need to run the AT Pro for 100 hours to get the hang of it and longer to master it. The EQ600 or 800, my guess is double that.
