ok help me out here

went back out to the old section of ft ord calif and found a few items all were in about a ten foot section im not real sure of what the badge is its marked sterling on the back found the quarter that doesnt have a date also a dated silver quarter ... any ideas?

I am guessing but looks like a metal for hitting a target so I think an old military award for excellence in that area. nice finds

WW2 to present, I'm not sure if they were used before the war or not, but they are still in use today.

Treasuretales is correct, that badge is a US Army Expert Rifle badge, and an older one - since it's sterling, it probably goes back to the 1960's or earlier. Nice coins, too! HH!

nice finds, I like the slq, and the 46. Congrats. By the time I got my marksmanship badge, they were junque metal, by now they probably come from China.

It is a rifle badge. There were 3 different ones I think. Marksman, expert and one other, I can't think of it right now.
