There's a thread on the fossil forum on shark's teeth right now, up near the top - if you post it there, there's a guy who should definitely ID it for you!

Are there any sturgeon around that area.Just wondering? But for your question some species of fish grow those type large with out themself being very large others would have to be quite big for scales that size.

Just to clear up about size, something like a skate would not have to be very large for that size scale, especially around the tail area. But something like most sharks I know of would never be that size just to big. They are made up of alot of smaller sized placiod scales even big ones.Skates come to me first just because I've slung truck loads of them off decks of trawlers fishing.Rays more like sharks I've seen it take four or five men to shove them over or out a stern ramp weighing 3-4 houndred pounds but with small scales kinda like sand paper.

Yep...there are sturgeon in these waters...I hooked into a 6 footer once but didn't take the time to really look it over. Green Check coming as soon as I get back to my computer! Thanks TimeKiller!
