We did a lot of driving today to scout out which fields are in the best condition. We found an Oilseed Rape field that had thestalks mostly cut back in. It was a field we haven't tried in 2 years & has been kind to us in the past with roman coins & hammered. After 1.5 hours we gave up with very little to show, hard to believe it was the same field, we must have cleared it well.
We then tried next door which was in the same good condition. Once again we gave up after 30 minutes as the sun was just crazy hot & the finds just weren't there!:tongue3:

Dad got the only OK finds with a possible Medieval Horse Harness Pendant & a 13th C Annular Brooch Pin.

Barley Stubble Field...

After dropping me off Dad tried a nearby Barley Stubble Field for about 1 hour.

He got the bottom half of a 14th C Lead Pilgrims Ampulla, shame it was bust...

Congrats to your dad! He did well in these tough conditions. Nice pilgrims ampulla, looks like a big one! I didn't got out today. Way too hot and not that much options. Too many fields still in stubble.
