The points from yesterday's hunt. We really did well
considering most points were near complete. As most
of you know it's usually the brokes that outnumber
the complete ones.

My friend found this broken fluted base--It has a wonderful
brown patina--the interior is bluish Coshocton at the fresh
breaks.

He also found this interesting celt--constricted to a small bit.

I found a very nice double pitted hammerstone.

Man Unitas you guys racked up in that field hunt. You all found some really nice ones. I like that Adena also. A lot of good points and tools. Congrats on a good hunt and pictures ! Worth the heat for sure/ Nice one.

Nice insitu pics and great finds, heck of a field you got there...Paleo to woodland. It doesn't get much better than multicomponent fields imo.

I'll try and get some new pics up--my hunting partner sent some photos of pitted stones that he had previously found on this same site -I hope to post a few of them as well----He has an awesome triangle shaped one from there.

I have seen the light....lol Those are great!!!!!The bowl is .....well....AWESOME!!!!!!!
And the triangle nutting stone..Is unique in my book...Thank you for shareing such wonderful artifacts with us...Neo

Glad you posted that triangular piece. I found one just like it in Va. this year, the pitted areas aren't as deep but the shape is a dead ringer. What do you think it is? hammerstone? Nice bowl.

I am pretty sure they are nutting stones.Put a nut in the dip, then whack it with a flatish stone..
All the hammer stones I have seen were baseball size or smaller, and in most cases oblong.I have a few but will have to look for the and get pics..
