I had been looking forward all week to getting out and seeing if we could find this old cemetery and house !
I got up early this morning, grabbed a quick shower, went out to the car and when I started it, was knocking so loud I am almost SURE to engine is shot ( was just bragging to omni how it had a bazzilion miles on it and how good of a car it has been) girlfriend gave me a ride to my moms and i borrowed her truck and started my drive.
still a lot of snow on the ground but it did get up to fifty, we found several areas that the ground wasnt frozen to detect but where I am pretty sure the old cemetery is was frozen solid with snow still on it but did get to run the detector over it and had a lot of nice hits, will get back to that spot when the weather gets nicer, did walk most of the 120 acres though and found several places where the ground wasnt frozen to detect, didnt find much but we had a lot of fun and nice to get out and enjoy the 50+ degree weather,
found a rock with lead in it (know it is lead because there is some on the surface) very strange find, anyone ever come across this?
1 old horseshoe
very long rivet, about the length and diameter of a pencil
newer penny
and a great fossil while crossing the creek, rock was about 12" x 8" and coming out of the top of the rock looks like a cutaway section of a honey comb ( anyone have any clues what this might be?
Next time I will try to get pics, left my camera, shovel and back-up batterys home, wasnt thinking right after I found out about the car!
