I said I wasn't going to hunt anymore this year and I haven't. (although I'm thinking about it for tomorrow. :) )

But I digress. I went to the store today and, as always, check the coinstar slot on the way in, nothing. Then, on the way out, a coin!! My first! LOL I reach in and pull out and there, in the palm of my hand was :

What's that? like falling in? And come up smelling like roses? LOL Sorry!! LOL

On a semi-serious note. When you hunt do you listen to the iron audio at all? One thing I've noticed about these things is that although they give a fairly good signal, they also seem to give a fair amount of iron audio at the same time. Makes them pretty easy to leave behind as nothing but iron. They air test fine but whilst in the ground they seem to have more iron rust. If that helps any.

Me and my son do the same thing. He goes and checks them on the way in and i check them on the way out. We have found many a silver dimes and a couple of quarters.i have also found a 1992 silver dime that some had broke apart from a set. Its seems that the coinstar machine do not accept silver coins. congrats on the war nickel.

You would think that coinstar would have developed a software that "recognizes" rare or valuable coins by now.

i agree. they are making 10.9 cents of every dollar here in el paso. and they have put up a sign. NO DIRTY COINS. lol i say take some of what they are making and clean them lol just sayin

I tell ya, I'm thinking you're finding all these just so you can show them to OD. I know it pleases him and makes him smile every time you show him one you found.

Nice save! It was meant to be!
I have yet to find something good in a coin star. But I keep checking!
