Beautiful coin! :occasion14:

It looks like you just minted that coin- Congrats on the awesome find! I lived on the Mass/RI border for years, so RI's been very good to me as well....

I've seen stranger things. I have an 1864 Indian with a shiny green patina. Right on!

That's insane! What a find. I have coins from this year that don't look that good. Congrats!

It's wild how they come out of the ground different colors. All the ones I find in Indiana are green . Great find

Great find, congratulations!

Beautiful coin, every time I find one they are in horrible shape, and its prob. My favorite coin, nice find, congrats.

Nice one. A lot better than the crusty 1903 I dug in Washington Park yesterday !

I suspect this coin has been cleaned prior to the post going up. Very nice condition though.

Yes, it was very gently cleaned. First, I ran it under running hot water to remove the dirt, then dabbed it dry. Then I placed it in hot H2O2 for several minutes. After rinsing in water again, it looks like this. The H2O2 step darkens the copper a bit. I was just fortunate that the soil conditions were just right so as not to erode the copper (e.g., farmer's field fertilizer).
