Got some pictures today of the king Offa penny I found a while back. The coin is now in London at an auction house, they cleaned and straightened the coin. The coin is in fact unique for it's type, it's the only one known with straight hair rather than curly. Also the obverse legend is arranged differently. The coin is recorded as EMC no.2009.0116 , well that's it, found it, recorded it, straightened and cleaned it, and soon to sell it (job done). What a wonderful find.

HH Robert.

2k plus, with a fair wind.

that will come in handy!

i bet your missus has that spent already

Straight hair? I don't even see a person on that coin!
Doesn't matter what I see or don't see though as long as the bidders step up and dig their heels in. Good luck!

Hope it's the right one ???

I wouldn't think so, last time I was there, an expert was working with the Museum to do a book on Offa coins, this maybe included, or the book might have been done by now.

Dereck Chick was the guy, he's cleaned saxon pennies for me in the past . I spoke to him when I first found the coin, it's too late though for my coin to be included in his book.
