Here are some items I have and since I don't know anything about them other than basically what they are in general, hopefully someone can give me some background on age or origin. A couple of these items I have no idea what they are, like the chain type object or sharp bent object.
note: the rightmost key says Lockwood MFG CD 11. The left key has writing on the tip but can't make it out. The chain is actually a double chain, not a reflection and seems to be copper.

Thank you,

Paul

Well, you've got 3 nice skeleton keys, one beautiful cross, - I have no idea what the one thing is - looks like an old chain bracelet, and, an old
Hays button hook.

Kewl!

Darn, I forgot my picture of the button hook - yours has probably been used - and bent a tad. My grandmother had several, all twisted in different ways as her arthritis got worse, I think. ;D

The Texas shaped item reminds me of a keychain that my uncle had years ago. I used to like to look at it and ask him where the rest of the states were (I thought he took it off of a map).

A 1913 city directory notes that Neil B. Hayes and his wife, Margaret E. owned the NB Hayes Company that sold "Men's, Women's and Children's Footwear". They were located at 11-13 N. Main Street in Adrian and their telephone number was '312-J'.

Ah, thank you for the info. I wouldn't have begun to know what to search for as far as the button hook is concerned. I had no idea what it was so nice one! :icon_thumright:
The keychain seems to be made of lead, or pewter, sure is soft enough. Ok, thanks all for the information, will continue looking into it as well. :read2:

It seems to say something on the Texas thing. Possibly the name of a city diagonally across with Texas underneath. I see an E in the word. Anything on the back?

CHEYENNE,
TEXAS?

Looking at it again it looks to end in Q. What Texas city ends in Q?

Unfortunately no, nothing on the back. I just searched a list of cities in Texas, nothing I found ending in Q. The picture is more readable than the actual item, I may try to enhance it and see if I can get some lettering off of it.

Thank you,

Paul

The squigly mark may not be a Q. There may be 3 words. It looks like it says something above TEXAS.

Is it possible it says AMERICA? Wish it was in slightly better shape. I can't find anything remotely close on this so far. :dontknow:

Maybe. Im now thinking 3 words and it ends with TEXAS. The 2nd word is the city perhaps.

The first word has a squigly thing at the end. :icon_scratch:

I was looking closely at the 2nd word but it actually looks like bull horns :dontknow: I do see the squiggly thing as well.

Skeleton key updates:

The first key
http://www.blackmarketantiques.com/antique-germany-steel-skeleton-door-inch-p-4546.html

A German skeleton key. Ran across it accidentally through image search.

The plain key I have no idea but it's grind down so likely worth nothing anyway.
The first two keys are old mortise door locks, not necessarily German.

I agree but the first key has the word GERMANY stamped on the "blade" is it? And the key still has residual silver coating like the German key in the link which has the same stamp on the blade as my key. The second one I have no idea. :dontknow:

Thanks again,

Paul

OH OK I didnt know yours was stamped GERMANY. I see it now. It however is the exact same size shape of a standard old home mortise door lock. They came in brass, steel, or plated. I remember my Grandmas doors used those skeleton keys. We have a locksmith here that could tell us if it has any difference.

Turtle,

Great pic on the buttonhook!

I have to admit - that was an easy id for me, I have all my grandmother's buttonhooks in my sewing cabinet. :laughing9:
