Well, I bought my home 4 years ago. To be honest, I've never thoroughly gone through the stuff that was left in nooks and crannies in my basement and attic. This was tucked away on a shelf in my basement...
It's "MACK-THE-KNIFE by Henniker's"
"Crowning Achievement of Cutler's Art"
"Crafted of hollow-ground stainless steel and rosewood, most versatile knife ever. Use as Slicer - Chopper - Carver - Parer - Bottle Cap Lifter - Fish Scaler - Can Opener - Frog Holder Downer - From-the-Jar Pickle Snatcher... and much more."

This knife is still in the original box with the blade cover and appears unused. I tried looking it up on the internet, but no info seems to exist. The end of the box says, "Stainless Steel Japan." Anyone know anything about it? I'm interested in learning more about my strange find.

damn just the other day i lost my "FROG HOLDERDOWNER". i sure could have used that handy dandy item! ;D

Kool knife!! it kind of looks like one of those knives you would see on a tv advertisement not sold in stores!! let us know how many of it capabilities it has you use it for!! I am willing to bet you will use it for only 3 or less!! ;D (unless of course you like frogs!! ::))

Henniker's.....I think that was Ron Popeil's Grandad ;) I love rootin' around old house's,Hope you can get some use out of it.HH!!

to keep a "bullfrog" from jumping around while you cut his legs off---fried frog legs---yummy ---kinda like small chicken legs---here kermit--- :D

I need a new Frog Holder Downer. I lost mine the other day, now them varmets are everywhere. I'd hog tie em, but that means I'd have to let one of the pigs loose.

If you say "Frog Holder Downer" with a heavy Japanese accent, it all make sense! :D

Nice find! Careful with that thing!

Did it come with a copy of the movie Deliverance?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

I believe I'd think seriously about the matter before I considered opening a bottle with THAT. What a bad idea. They probably had to take it off the market because of the multitude of fingerless children. But pretty soon our cell phones will be doing all that anyway. I, for one, am going to walk right out of the cingular store if I ever see a cell phone that doubles as a "Frog Holder-Downer." :D

Isn't there some kind of law against amphibian bondage?? :o Who'd want to do that to this cute little guy, anyway? There's some serious preverts out there!

Well... some may have wished that it was a "Sheep Holder-Downer."

yuck.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw a few years back. Cartoon shows inside of a restaurant and a big sign, "Special Today Froglegs". The kitchen door is flying open and a bunch of frogs are running out in little wheel chairs! Well, I guess you had to be there. Not near as funny being told as it was drawn. M ::) nty

Buckle boy You don't happen to live in europe do you!! Sheeps? That is sick!!! LOL :D
