Oddball item

Hey guys, I found this in a baseball outfield at an older park this past sunday. It was very deep at 9-10'' I can't see any markings on it. When I first uncovered it I thought it was a marble, it is so bright orange. Anyone have a clue as to what this mystery item may be?

looks like a reflector, possibly off of an old street sign. Not 100 % though

it's an old reflector off of a license plate for a bike. similar to this
