✅ SOLVED ODD SOLID METAL item found of Lake Michigan Beach

Found this item over the weekend, approx 50 feet off the shoreline, 2+ feet down. Approx Size is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Very heavy - cast iron? Sorry, cleaned it best that I could without scraping off rust/pebbles/etc. Hope to find out what this thing is...
