Yesterday I detected a field that I believe was once part of the farm that's right behind it. The sign in front of that farm says it was established in 1704 and has a beautiful old farm house on it. I was hoping for an old coin in the field, but no such luck. I have no clue what the item on the upper left is. It has a pin thru it and is made like a hinge. Both halves pivot around that pin. I also found what appears to be a cap of some sort. It says "Chandler" on it and doesn't look very old. It's about 3.25" diameter. Any info on either item would be appreciated. The coin is a 2000 nickel.

The item marked CHANDLER may well be the wheel hub cover from a CHANDLER automobile manufactured between 1919-1929.

Thanks,

Hasbeen, I think you're right about the Chandler automaker. I had never heard of the Chandler Motor Company until you mentioned it. I just did a search looking for the company logo and found the picture below. The logo matches the part I have.

I contacted a club of Chandler car owners and they verified that the item that I found is a Chandler hubcap. Hasbeen was right! It's made out of aluminum and is threaded inside. I'm still curious about the part in the upper left corner. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the info everyone. It appears that the buckle part dates back to the mid to late 1700's. Now if I only could have found some coins from that period.
