Hello All. I found this near a 1920's small town house site. It is a pin or brooch but I cannot find one like it on the net. It is brass with no makers info engraved on it. At first I thought the setting was Bakelite but it does not pass the "sniff test" after applying heat to it.

Any ideas on the vintage of the piece or type of setting this might be are appreciated.

given the Chinese motif, I would suspect it is possibly white jade

Hello JG. I did some looking at various types of jade and my "stone" looks a bit too uniform to be jade...probably some form of early plastic or resin. Thanks for the info and reply. C9

Pretty cool deco piece. Somewhat in the style of Max Neiger / Neiger Brothers... I don't know if adding "Neiger Style" to a google search would help find a match? Other Czech artists imitated their style, and a lot (including Neiger) didn't mark their pieces.

What have my children done to me?!

My first thought was two Gyarados guarding a Pokemon egg!
