Some odd crystals I have found while looking for gold in hand samples on my property. The small red one I thought was a garnet that fell out of some schist until I seen the shape. I have never seen that crystal structure in a garnet before. The silver one I believe is pyrite. Again odd crystal shape. The third one is different. Looks like a crystal was dissolved and a different mineral was formed in the shell of the old crystal? All conjecture, any ideas?

Garnet and pyrite are correct for the first two. The garnet I would say is a modified duodecahedral,

As to the last one I'm pretty sure its chalcedony with mossy growths of quartz crystals running thru it and that one is quite nice. Good pictures
